  • AUTO INSURANCE:
In the state or Arizona, the state minimum lability required to drive your vehicle on the road legally is 25/50/15, BUT is this enough coverage to cover the full cost of the damages you might be responsible for IF/WHEN you are found at fault?

Did you know you are still responsible for the remaining cost of the damages?

Do you know what 25/50/15 means? and more importantly, do you know what the average payout is for vehicle accidents in AZ?

Lets talk about the level of coverage one should carry, AND what benefits you can gain when you elect to carry the preferred coverage limits.

  • HOME OWNERS INSURANCE:
Homeowners insurance primary function is to cover the rebuild cost of the home in a total loss and offer liability coverage for damages to others (like neighbors) that might accrue. I regularly find errors as the coverage limit is based on things like the loan amount from when you first purchased the home and that is not correct, and could possibly be under or over insured! As an agent I run a proper RCE (Replacement Cost Estimator) to make sure the coverage amount is correct based on the current labor and material cost.

What about other coverages on a homeowners policy? There are MANY endorsements you can add to your home owners insurance policy to cover additional risk/concerns. Many assume these are all automatically included and that is not always the case! When was the last time you had a conversation with an agent about what you currently do and don't have on your existing policy? If your last agent never asked and never saw your prior policy when quoting your home, at one point you might have had a coverage and don't even know you no longer have it now!

  • UMBRELLA INSURANCE:
Ya, some have heard of these but most don't know what they are or if they might be in need of one!

An UMBRELLA policy is is an extension of liability coverage (starting at 1 Million and goes up from there.) This coverage automatically kicks in when your underlying policy coverage (Auto, Boat, UTV, Home, etc.) are exhausted so you are not left with the financial responsibility to pay of the remaining damages and cost out of pocket.

Many don't think an umbrella policy is necessary until an accident happens and they are concerned about the cost of the damages (example: cost to replace a totaled high end vehicle they hit or they hit a car that then hit a second car, then learn they are responsible for BOTH vehicles damages) An Umbrella offering 1 Million in additional coverage eases those concerns.

The great part is Umbrella's are not that expensive! BUT, there are some criteria one has to meet before they qualify to purchase one. Lets talk about what the qualifiers are BEFORE you have an accident because having a recent claim on your record might disqualify you from purchasing one until the recent accident has aged (sometime up to 2-3 years has to pass)

Let's schedule a time so we can discuss your unique household concerns/needs

I LOOK FORWARD TO HEARING FROM YOU!

What factors affect my auto insurance premium?

Your auto insurance premium is determined by a combination of factors, (including but not limited to) your driving history, the level of coverage you select, the make and model of your vehicle, your location, and even your credit score. The specific details can vary between insurance companies, so it's essential we discuss your unique circumstances to get an accurate quote tailored to your needs.

Do I need to add my teen driver?

Yes, once a teen has passed their driving test, they do need to be added to your insurance policy or your insurance carrier can deny the claim if the teen was found at fault in an accident. If an insurance agent tells you otherwise, ask to get it in writing. I promise, you won't get it! Let's connect to discuss this further.

What happens if I let someone borrow my car, and they have an accident?

If you lend your car to someone NOT listed on your policy and they have an accident, typically your auto insurance policy would be the primary coverage in most cases as long as the person borrowing the car meets the proper criteria. As the rules can be slightly different from carrier to carrier, the general rules will consist of things like, individual does NOT reside in your household, they are the name insured on their own insurance policy, have a valid drivers license, etc. However, it's essential to check your policy and consult with your insurance provider because coverage can vary. Some policies may exclude certain drivers or have restrictions on who can use your vehicle.

What discounts can I qualify for?

Discounts very from carrier to carrier. This is why it is beneficial to work with a broker like myself who can shop multiple carriers to help find the one that offers you the most discounts and best rate for the coverages you need.

If I am cited in an accident, does that mean I am at fault?

No, being cited for not following the rules of the road is in itself its own consequence. It is possible that the party that was not cited actually be found at fault for the accident. As this is not common, it is a possibility based on the accident itself.

How can I lower my auto insurance premium?

This doesn't happen over night, but an agent like myself can help you build what I call an insurance resume that when presented to a carrier when shopping for rates can and will help earn a lower rate being offered. Let's connect so we can discuss this in more detail.

Does bundling my auto and home offer the best discount?

The answer here is YES and NO. Many insurance carriers "bundled" discounts are based on the level of coverage you carry on your auto. Those who elect to carry low liability limits might only receive a small "bundled" discount and those carrying higher liability limits will receive a larger discount, which is more beneficial when looking at your over all cost.
